jil sander velvet and taffeta 3D rosette dress, 1980s

1980s jil sander gown in velvet and taffeta. hands down one of my all time favorite finds..! the midnight black velvet bodice is subtly padded at its shoulders which balances the upper half to its full skirted lower portion beautifully, and features fabric covered buttons at its sleeve. the bottom half of the dress is done in what feels like a rayon-blend taffeta, with a reverse cage-style crinoline and a sea of 3D rosettes in a subtly contrasting metallic lurex.

size: tag removed, estimated to fit a medium-large.
