martin margiela oversized silk skirt with straps, s/s 2001

oversized silk skirt with an elasticated waistband in a rich chocolate brown, as seen (worn open) on the runway. ingenious construction; there is an interior button and strap, as well as a hook and eye tab at its exterior, which allows the wearer to adjust the size of the waist and adds dimension with a folded asymmetric panel. most of the skirts presented were deconstructed artisanal variants, and while this piece doesn’t bare the (0) label, the wash tag is the same as artisanal pieces, and was also produced in-house.
