prada backless brocade gilet, s/s 2002

brocade gilet with an open back, and a loosely fixed ruched panel at center front, worn on the runway and seen in the season’s campaign. the textile is done in muted gold, with navy accents (the panel is the same textile with the “wrong” side face up!). there are two cotton cord straps in different widths at its backside that add a surprising and striking asymmetry when worn. the piece is lined with a nude silk chiffon.
